Rihani was honored on numerous occasions during his life by dignitaries, diplomats, men of letters, and friends. After his death, several commemorations were established in his memory. The list below, although not all inclusive, highlights these recognitions.

  • Honored by the Pleiades Club in New York, in 1904
  • Honored by literary figures in Cairo, in 1922
  • Honored as a Life Member by the Italian Cultural Garden of New York, in 1935
  • Decorated with the Lebanese Gold Medal in 1940
  • Decorated with the Iranian Order of Merit for Learning in 1940
  • Decorated with the Moroccan Order of Merit for Learning in 1940
  • Was bestowed upon the title of Prince, by King Hussein I in 1922
