The Lebanese University, in its five branches in all districts of Lebanon, has organized its graduation ceremony on Sunday, April 2, 2006,
at the UNESCO Palace in Beirut. The 1200 graduates came from all parts of Lebanon, and as soon as they marched into the stage, and took their
places at the podium, the master of the ceremony announced them as the graduates who proudly carry the name of the Ameen Rihani Class. They
have earned their B.A. and M.A. degrees in Arabic Literature, English Literature, French Literature, Philosophy, Political Science, History,
Translation, and Linguistics.
The program included: the National Anthem, the University Alma Mater, speeches by the valedictorian Ms. Hana Saab, Faculty representative
Dr. Jean Jabbour, Dean of Arts and Humanities Dr. Ahmad Huteit, the President of the University Dr. Zuheir Shakar, the Minister of higher
education Dr. Khaled Kabbani, and distribution of degrees. The master of ceremony was Dr. Ali Salloum.
The speeches quoted Rihani in poetry, prose, as well as in literature, politics, philosophy, and social writings. At the end of the ceremony,
which was attended by more than three thousand people, the President of the Lebanese University Dr. Shakar offered the representative of the
